Maybe it's easy for me to say, but I couldn't possibly care less about agendas, representation (or lack thereof) or whatever the hell "underlying messages" there are. The film can star a bunch of genderless, amorphic, asexual purple monsters for all I care. Just make an interesting, entertaining film. Ideally with cool, nuanced world-building and/or compelling characters.

Disney/Lucas Arts failed to do that with the new Trilogy, and my excitement about Star Wars is at an all-time low as a result. At least the prequel trilogies only had lame narratives based BEFORE the OT, rather than AFTER the fact and thus pissing on the entire OT characters, plot, purpose, etc.

Here's hoping Mandolarian is a fair bit more interesting, as this franchise is on its last legs at this point and in need of a new spark. Thankfully I've heard it's pretty solid. Thinking about signing up for a trial and maybe a month or 2 of Disney + to check it out.
