It's very linear down to its core and has some pretty questionable characters in how they react and how they're portrayed, but it's an overall solid game. The story is very engaging and has a very saga-ish feel unto itself. The soundtrack is outstanding and the main combat is good in its own way and very unique.  Satisfying especially when you stagger bosses and start laying tons of extra damage on them.

You're going to get a lot of people that didn't like the game to come out of the wood works and start writing their dissertations on why they don't like it however.  You'll have to actually play it for yourself to decide.
