While the Redux version has remastered graphics for current gen, the base games of Metro 2033 and Last Light ran on the Xbox 360, which is even weaker than the Switch, and since 4A should know their own code and tech back-to-front, it shouldn't be a problem for them to make it work on Switch.

For me the interesting part will be seeing how close it gets to the PS4/Xbone versions, especially in light of the recent Alien Isolation Switch port. Should make for an interesting episode of Digital Foundry haha
