I mean, maybe? I love PS games but there are a bunch I have yet to play, like Bloodborne and TLG.

And what about ppl who love PS games and are late adopters?

As iv been stating many times. Sometimes companies have to take a hit with console hardware to gain a bigger audience and profits. Brands wont do this if that wasnt the case. MS saw the light many years ago.

Yes from an audience perspective it does make sense. Difference is that MS needs the market more than Sony do.

Either way, I want to see how the decision plays out and how it affects their hardware business, if at all.

Both Xbox and Sony need it all the same, next gen everything gets reset to 0 and they both aim for the same audience and both want to surpass beyond the console market. Its the only way to grow.

There is literally no "hit" to Sony in this scenario. It's the very epitome of a safe play.

Wont affect this gen as this gen is almost finished, however decisions like this will affect long term if the strategy continues. Its definitely not a bad thing because the console market is only a small fish in the pond when it comes to the entire industry. PC, Mobile, Portable and many more services continue to grow in the market and more competition can reduce sales naturally. Sony know just as much as anyone that there is bigger profits to be made outside the console market.
