Well that may be true if they had announced a third version, but given that the question here is whether to buy S&S, the DLC is still the better option. Also I would rather them (and everyone, for that matter) do what is good for all as opposed to what is good for me.

Not sure I follow, a third version would still be a version of Sw/Sh, and are you saying you base your purchase decisions on the happiness of others? I'm just trying to understand how doing DLC in place of a third version is such an achievement that could change one's mind on the game.
