Smash is the biggest success of the year critically and commercially. It's a massive hit with casuals, fans, and competitive audiences alike. It's an extremely ambitious and polished game that brings together dozens of different game universes together, with loads of different franchises, different developers, different companies, all being represented in a massive game with over 70 characters, 100 stages, and 1000 songs - and counting. It's a huge celebration of gaming unlike anything else that's ever happened in the industry.

I don't know how deserving Sekiro is, because I haven't played it and neither am I interested, but Smash was definitely the best pick here.

SSBU'c MC is 93 and Sekiro is 91 on Xbox One so the difference is abysmal. Also there are other games with 93 Meta like RE2.

Sure, SSBU sells shitalot, but Sekiro also is the biggest hit in business terms for From Software.

SSBU is hell-packed with  the content, but the main problem here  is - unlike BOTW for example - it's basically just another Smash game.  Sekiro's impact is bigger.
