I'm gonna say the first one. It's just such a unique, charming game. The combat is the most challenging and fun in the first one, the controls to me felt the most fluid in the first game, and the atmosphere of the mansion, I feel, was pretty damn excellent and actually pretty scary. I also like the art direction of the ghosts in the first game the most--there's just something weird about the way the ghosts in the second and third game look, it's like they have an extra chromosome. I think a lot of people unfairly criticize the game for being too short, however I'll argue there's quite a great amount of replay-ability because of how short it is, and because of the grade you get at the end of the game from collecting as much money as you can.
