You're right, at least according to Zhuugex it's sold-through so it seems it's not shipped.

Pokemon Sun and Moon - 7.2m
It's hard to know how much Sun and Moon did in its first week due to the later release of the game in Europe.

In NA the game sold 3.7m in under two weeks.
In JP the game sold 2m in its first week.
In EU the game sold 1.5m in its first week.
So 7.2m in total, but not aligned
It seems it's done very well.
