However, they do reveal the month's winner (which has been Nintendo a lot lately) and they don't hold back on praising impressive numbers and records (which has been about Nintendo a lot lately), so I'm not quite sold on the theory that NPD is paid to downplay Nintendo. Look, at the end of the day, NPD is trash when it comes to sales data. If one of the biggest players in the industry (Nintendo) doesnt share their sales data with you, your results are shit. Also, NPD uses revenue and not unit sales, so it skews the data even more. NPD is dead and irrelevant. The people who take them seriously are people who are in denial and stuck in the past. IMO, VGchartz is more reliable.
