1/ Majora's Mask
-has flaws but by far my favourite, feels like the most 'special', focus on characters and atmosphere, contrast between childlike eccentricity and looming sadness and doom, that freaking scene on the Moon! Anju and Kafei! the OST!!

2/ Ocarina of Time
-probably the closest to an 'objective' best game ever - in the context of its release (1998) crystallized the best of what were video games at the time and the best of what video games were about to become, most spectacular conversion of an IP from 2d to 3d (along with mario64 and metroid prime--- you madmen at nintendo..)

3/ Breath of the Wild
-everything has been said.. long awaited reboot of the saga and they nailed it for the most part. Dungeons felt a bit too generic, and the climax felt a bit anticlimactic, but anything else was an absolute joy.

4/ Link's Awakening
-favourite 2D zelda, like Majora feels special, strange, intimate

5/ A Link to the Past

6/ Wind Waker
-has many flaws, short on dungeons, but has character/soul, absolutely gorgeous, characters had depth that i'd love to see again (Ganondorf's speech:)

"Do you sleep still?
Wait! Do not be so hasty, boy... I can see this girl's dreams...
Oceans... Oceans... Oceans... Oceans...
Oceans as far as the eye can see. They are vast seas... None can swim across them... They yield no fish to catch...
What did the King of Hyrule say?...
That the gods sealed Hyrule away? And they left behind people who would one day awaken Hyrule? How ridiculous...
So many pathetic creatures, scattered across a handful of islands, drifting on this sea like fallen leaves on a forgotten pool...
What they can possibly hope to achieve?
Don't you see?
All of you... Your gods destroyed you!
My country lay within a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing... Death.
But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin.
I coveted that wind, I suppose.
But do not fear, boy. I will not kill you. I merely need that which you hold."
