As others have pointed out, it's a very well crafted film, but I'd add the stipulation that I don't entirely agree with it's message and could poke holes in certain plot elements relating to them. I sympathized with the Joker while also fully recognizing that he made the wrong choices at nearly every turn, but I'm also a functioning adult so there.

The controversy surrounding it is pure activist crap that ended up equaling higher ticket sales, so just another in a long instance of modern day moral outrage activists shooting themselves in the foot. Regardless of how much it makes, this was DC's most influential film since the Dark Knight. It had a couple of good twists and it's a very culturally appropriate movie.

Not sure what to rate it. It's definitely well above average, but I also feel like it wasn't a fulfilling movie experience the way I would describe the many repeat viewings of the Dark Knight were for me. I'd say it just isn't the type of movie for me, but I like darker subject material in my entertainment. I'm probably an outlier either way.
