This is probably only going to impact a tiny number of people as well... but why is there no real download queue control, also the download queue seems limited to what... about 30 games at a time? With no error message to alert you that games after that aren't added to the list. Also you might want to check out games with dlc, I had a few like Superbeat Xonic and Tetris 99 which only downloaded the DLC but not the games needed to play them I had to navigate to Tetris 99's own page... on the US store to be able to download it (the EU store where my online account is just says the game is purchased with no option to download) the thing is, I work in IT support and teaching IT support and I'm running into issues with this, the average kid is just gonna be crying his eyes out and thinking he'll just start a new Nintendo account on it instead and dad can just buy him the games again on that, it'll be easier. Why don't they just let you hop the SD card from one Switch into the other and rebuild the game DB like the Vita got so perfectly right... I mean if your system is less friendly than the Vita's one you're in trouble. |
Hmmm, I didn't have that much trouble. All my saves and content were there. It recognized them. I tested out a couple games to verify. First was BotW, to check if all my dlc was there and my saves too. Then I checked Splatoon 2 to check if my progress was still there. Also went right. Then I check Smash Bros and Rocket League. All went fine. My problem was rather the large amount of games that I have. As for the downloading itself.. I did it alphabetically, so I didn't do 30 at a time. It was a process of about 3 days in total. The region issues... I have had no problems with it. I have a separate US account that I needed to download my imported Megaman collections. Stupidly half of the collection was a download code. So I switched to the US account and easily redownloaded those halfs. This... is... so.. much better than the Vita if you've ever tried buying another game on your vita from another region.. digitally. It's a nightmare.
As for the SD card issue. Most definitely has to do with anti-hacking or piracy measures. If you're mentioning the Vita in the same sentence, best also consider that it's at least not an expensive proprietary format.
