Barkley nailed it. Resolution is only one aspect. Graphic fidelity will increase. 4k/60fps takes a massive amount of power. The ps5 won't have that kind of power. Anybody expecting such will be disappointed. The ps5 won't ship with a $500 gpu.
Additionally, given standard TV size and sitting distance the difference between native 4k and checkerboard is negligible at best. Pushing native 4k is a waste of system resources. Push 60fps and upscale to 4k.
