It is cool that there are so many options, but I guess I'm a simple man; the Joycons that came with my Switch have served me well enough so far that I haven't felt any need to seek an alternative.

My biggest gripe with the Joycons is the lack of d-pad for 2d gaming.  I have an 8bitdo SNES30 Pro for docked mode, but in handheld mode, the lack of a dpad is a real issue.

I really don't mind the default joy con at all for the dpad button thing it has, but that Hori pad is around 20 or so from Amazon here could be worth checking out? I initially bought that along with the first joy con stick replacement that I was going to do, the intention was that I would buy a cheapo replacement joy con in case the repair went badly, but ... the repair was perfect but I just fell in love with the slightly different layout on the Hori joycon and the slight reduction of system weight because of the lack of HD rumble and battery pack inside that controller.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive
