Also, why do so many people think Nintendo will replace the Switch so soon? There's really no reason to do so unlike the previous consoles (Wii was falling so much that it needed replacement, and the Wii U never catched on in the first place) so why would they? We are in the Switch's third year and still no pricecut anywhere in sight as it's still selling like hotcakes. In fact, Switch is outselling last year by quite some margin already. And that's all before we take the Lite into account.

Exactly, it makes zero sense for Nintendo to give a system selling at a similar pace to the PS4 a similar lifespan to the Wii U.

Replacing the Switch with a full blown successor in 2021 would be one of the dumbest moves they could possibly make.
