Ca. 40 million more units to catch that 3DS... it all depends if Nintendo will release a back-compatible Switch 2 in the coming 2 or 3 years.

By then the Switch should already be past, or very close to pass the 3DS.

Also, why do so many people think Nintendo will replace the Switch so soon? There's really no reason to do so unlike the previous consoles (Wii was falling so much that it needed replacement, and the Wii U never catched on in the first place) so why would they? We are in the Switch's third year and still no pricecut anywhere in sight as it's still selling like hotcakes. In fact, Switch is outselling last year by quite some margin already. And that's all before we take the Lite into account.
