PS4 seems to be on pace to finish the year around 15'5-16'0M which is what i predicted at the begining of the year (in fact i said that PS4 and Switch would be neck and neck just before Oct-Nov and it seems is going to be like this), and all of this without a price cut and a lackluster year of AAA games in 2019 compared to 2017 and 2018.

I don't know what to say about this...We were talking in that other thread about how Nintendo games don't go cheaper and still sell and sell, years after release, and with PS4 is the same but with home consoles.

Um, no?

Switch is the longest any console has ever gone without a price cut, and even when it does end up getting a price cut later this year, it won't even be a "price cut" but a new less valuable edition (even the battery life in the $300 model is now better, considering they just released a new updated version that has 1.5 more hours than the Lite).

Switch is much more comparable to a Nintendo game in that regard, because it hasn't even gotten a price reduction yet. And if you're using "home console" as a disqualifier for Switch than well ... I don't really see the point, since it's Playstation 4's biggest competition right now.

Also this year isn't really lackluster compared to 2018 or 2017 in the AAA department. We've already gotten Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5, Ace Combat 7, Kingdom Hearts 3, Sekiro, Mortal Kombat 11, Days Gone, Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled, The Division 2, etc. ... and we'll also get games like Death Stranding, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, and more. The decline has a lot more to do with the fact that most people who are interested in these kind of titles probably already own a system, and not with the year having inherently less value.

In fact, ironically enough, the period from Days Gone to early next year will probably be the most consistent in terms of Playstation Exclusive releases, with Days Gone, Death Stranding, Concrete Genie, MediEvil, and The Last of Us 2. That's a much more consistent release schedule of high profile exclusives than ever before.
