I was going to reply in this thread to say the same thing.
Holy crap 3D World is one of the greatest Mario games ever made. It was such a unique concept to create a Mario game that played like a 2D game but with all the freedom of movement and exploration as a 3D one. My daughter loves playing it with me as well. She loves the cat suit and trying to get the crown.
I really hope Nintendo makes another game with this style at some point, although I imagine it's a ton of work to create so many unique 3D environments to explore. SM3D World had more levels in it than most 2D Mario games. I'm curious if 3D World was more expensive to make than a game like Galaxy.
