Governments are far more irresponsible than private persons and organizations. They're the cause of nearly all major problems, outside of natural disasters, that have ever occurred. So, if governments can handle nukes (to be clear, I do not trust government with nukes, but they haven't killed us all yet), certainly private entities can as well.
