So far previews have indicated that LM3 has great promise. And as for Splatoon/ARMS, the numbers are there for AngryLittleAlchemist, so I guess it doesn't matter. I mean regardless, especially for Splatoon, all the merch, the concerts, and the sales and popularity (especially in Japan) show otherwise. So while anyone can say Splatoon/ARMS are not good games, the numbers can speak for themselves. It's like when people ask why is Animal Crossing an important IP when its a Life/Social Simulator, while being a popular IP within the female and Japanese audience. As for the OP, NLG have potential to create a new IP. Whether they can get approval of Nintendo from a gameplay perspective will determine if it comes to fruition. |
I say that because there are certain people on this site who will aggressively defend games they like. Even if you still like the game too, if you don't share the exact same criticisms as they do no more no less, then your opinion won't be accepted. So for him to outright call those games bad is quite ballsy, but perhaps he's part of the in-crowd so they'll overlook this transgression lul.
I don't doubt Luigi's Mansion 3 will be great, but you know, can't be 100% sure until it's out. NLG has made a variety of different gameplay styles between Strikers, Mansion, Federation Force, so I have no clue what their new IP would be like.
