Director's/Extended Cuts that massively improved a film?

I've been hearing for years how the DC of Kingdom of Heaven is supposed to be the "good" version while the theatrical is crap but I've watched the theatrical in the cinema as a teen and later on TV a couple of times and loved it every time. I'd like to watch them both someday to see what the fuzz is all about.

Aside from that, Batman v Superman was better in the extended version but I never found it to be a bad movie like other people. The most popular version of "Aliens" is supposed to be the extended version and that movie is basically flawless so I have to imagine the theatrical version is inferior. The extended version of Watchmen is amazing and my favorite superhero movie of all time but the whole pirate comic side-plot drags the story a bit.
