your answer is in the OP really... you should shop around and buy things when they're on offer. Thrifty gaming doesn't always get the new releases or all the releases but just shop around and get titles that you're interested in when they're on offer, I'm sure if you're like myself or most gamers you probably have a backlog with at least 20+ titles in it which are all great AAA games you've probably really wanted to play for years, go play those and wait for a sale.
