Yes, adjustments mean that the current 2019 sales (as of July 13th) are: PS4 - 6,456,010 Switch - 6,323,399 And you're also right that Switch will end up the best selling console of 2019. By quite a large margin I imagine. It's possible the adjustments are too much though. I might have aimed for 2.5m on shelves rather than 2.3m. |
According to this very site, the sellthrough for both last year in this same period of the year was (as of July 14th 2018):
PS4 - 7,43M
Switch - 5,29M
So, PS4 is 13% down and Switch is 19% up.
If PS4 mantains this rate until the end of the year it should be around 15'6M sold in 2019. Maybe around 15M by the end of the year then....
If Switch mantains this rate it will be 19'4M sold in 2019. But this will meant Nov+Dec would be 19% higher too, and i don't expect that (i expect a flat holiday season compared to last year), so probably will be more around 18'5-19'0M by the end of the year.
In the end, it seems numbers are going to be what Sony and Nintendo expect for the year....
