Sony won't allow it, as it almost never does, and MSoft probably will because they've done it before. Nothing new.

Sony probably will allow it, they've changed their tune on crossplay with other consoles. Fortnite, Rocket League, Dauntless and the upcoming CoD all support full crossplay on ps4.

And that's all of those who do. 4 games, and those are mostly unlocked due to backlash hurting them or fear over backlash if they don't allow it. If they really would have changed their minds then many more games would be able to be played cross-play and it wouldn't even be up in the air by the time of his tweet.

In other words, Crossplay for Borderlands 3 isn't anything near approved by Sony.
