On a more general note, the concerns that Nintendo will have trouble to sell in Europe in general and Spain specifically stem from an unhealthy emphasis on the previous generation and the exclusion of handheld sales. That paints a picture of "Europe is Sonyland", but both the Wii and DS did well in Europe (including Spain), so there isn't anything special that Nintendo will have to do to make Switch sell a lot in Europe. Switch is already doing well as it is and it's only going to get better with cheaper hardware prices.
The PS4's peak years in Spain are 500-600k each and if Switch does 400-500k during each of its peak years (and that's likely), it won't be far off. In France it's likely that Switch will sell more lifetime than the PS4, a lot of other European countries fall between Spain and France.

Not entirely sure about this. But even though Spain is very strong for Sony, I was under the impression that there are even stronger countries marketshare wise for Sony in Europe. Potentially Italy, and especially southeast Europe like Greece. So the "Europe is Sonyland" stems from more than just Spain and the big 3.
On the other hand Nordic countries are fairly strong for Nintendo marketshare wise.

Yep, here in Italy Nintendo is seen as a "child brand/product" and in fact is one of the worst market for Nintendo in Europe, quite the same as Spain, but with more sales
