True, which just means that in that sense it's valuable and not overpriced.

Production costs is the other thing we can look at. "Thanks to a new report from Japanese firm Fomalhaut, we now know that the manufacturing cost for the Nintendo Switch is roughly $257"

So the Switch at launch cost $257 to make and was sold at $299, clearly not overpriced.

Considering X1 and PS4 launched with about 50USD loss and Switch 50 USD profit, you can understand why I call it overpriced. It is about 100 USD gap between it and the other 2. Thus why for me Switch should have costed 199 at launch. The dock and HDMI cable are "pennies" in the cost.

Just because MS and Sony are terrible at managing their own finance so they had to launch ps4/xbox 1 at loss doesn't mean Nintendo have to pretend that they are the same level as those two and selling Switch at loss. Nintendo is a master of managing their own finance and budget, no reason for them to dig the same hole as the others.
