I imagine the Loading times is due to compression, the Switch CPU having to uncompress data as it's loaded into ram. The Switch version is only 5.7gb while the PS5/XBO version is 15gb+. Might be a consequence of them trying to fit the game on a cheaper cartridge. But that's just a theory. Getting the file size down without substantially increasing load times shouldn't be a problem, and isn't for a lot of other Switch games afaik. Probably just the way Beenox chose to do it. |
Yeah if I had to guess I'd say the same, that the additional compression needs more time for the CPU to unpack. But hey, at least the whole game comes on the card, unlike a lot of other Switch releases, which is another thing that makes it a good port to me. I'll happily cop longer load times if it means I don't have to download half the game.
