4 times as powerful was in reference to the CPU, I believe.

Well I doubt it because I'm pretty sure the CPU for next gen will be much more than 4x stronger than a potato.

I believe the "4x" quote is refering to the whole machine, like if you consider the faster ram, beefier cpu and gpu + the ssd you would, in the best case, get 4x the performance of the x, but i doubt the gpu is 4x stronger because this would mean that the gpu on scarlet is actualy 24TFlops and for reference the rtx2080ti has "only" 13.45 TFlops in FP32.

I do believe it's the whole machine. And for it to be the whole machine, most of the parts would need to be about 4x better because if not they would become bottlenecks that would keep the whole from being 4x. And as said by the first reply you don't need 24Tf of the GPU in the PS5/X4 to have a 4x stronger GPU as it would be a different architeture.

Nothing. Absolutely, positively, nothing, nothing we have not heard before.

Thank you for opening another thread which contains absolutely no information whatsoever (can I have my 10 minutes back?)

Neither the text in the link, nor the video in the link, has any information, whatsoever, in it. Everything has already been said in all the other threads.

I can understand that people are somewhat irritated that after weeks of hearing "MS goes all-in this E3", "Anaconda is 78TFlops", etc, what they got was a slideshow of (mostly multiplatform) cgi videos (and basically a "We got the same the PS5 apparently has"), and as with the PS5 "reveal", nothing specific (as was perfectly obvious right from the start).

But seriously. do we really need all these threads and posts with fictious specs? I know if people post any specs thinkable (and, mostly, unthinkable), eventually someone will get it right.

I doubt you took more than 2 min to read the OP, so you won't need your 10 min back because of it. And the thread title was very clear on what it is about, so if you didn't want to check on the subject that you are tired of you don't need to enter.

I didn't put any or all specs thinkable. I gave the link to official information.
