I feel like an ass complaining about the graphics, but the art style shown here is rather unambitious. Xenoblade 2 probably had a fraction of the resources The Pokemon Company and Gamefreak have, and they managed to make a sprawling world with creatures roaming around it.

The giantic mode is... odd. I get megaevolutions as a way to balance the metagame, and the same with Z moves. But what does the giant mode change? I feel like they thought it as a way to include Pokemon Go -like mechanics into the game, and then decided to just incorporate it into the combat. Speaking of which, I'm rather afraid of them getting into the title propper, the Pokemon Company has developed a taste for mobile economies in this past few years. Pokemon in the overworld is fine, I guess, but there are many other areas that need the attention before that.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
