I would say Nintendo is more like Apple. Overpriced hardware, dedicated fanbase that religiously buy the product and overpriced accessories regardless of cost.
Like apple, Nintendo lacks a bunch of features cuz they are closed off and do things their way, but what they do do, they do really well.
