While I've only skimmed through HylianSwordsman's reply to me (will read through it properly later, and give my reply), it does appear that he is attempting to explain his reasoning, and is open to having a proper discussion about it.
When someone replies that way, you should try to do the same in your reply to them. If you disagree with their reasoning, or find that it doesn't adequately support their argument, explain why. Rather than just saying "you don't want to come to terms with".
More like your second paragraph, which may be a fair point to bring up.
