Agreed. Next gen they very much need to "think outside the box" to push visual fidelity... Something that was a strong point during the 7th gen with baked lighting and shadowing detailing in the texture work... So when a games visuals shined it was because of amazing artists, which games like Uncharted and Halo 4 fully showcased.
The CPU gains will be one of the largest in any console generation though, that makes any tech-head moist for what it might potentially mean... We started to see hints towards it's potential with things like Horizon Zero Dawn having micro-simulation of things like ants crawling up a tree.
