Considering how poorly Sony's last three consoles (PS3, Vita, PS4) have started in Japan and that there's no indication that Sony will change their strategy for Japan, it won't be tough for Nintendo at all.

Yep! And considering more and more Japanese devs are putting their games on the Switch + the whole censorship issues with Sony. Nintendo is looking good in Japan.
