@John2290 - breathe in deep, buddy, it sucks but it is what it is. Even if that was GRRM's idea, there's always Tolkien, Le Guin or even Shakespeare to remind us how fantasy and tragedy can be properly written. Sanderson and Kay are still active writers too, and good on what they're doing.

@shikamaru317 - I wouldn't take MatPat as a deep, meaningful analysis on anything. His purpose has aways been to entertain his audience with ludicrous ideas peppered with some didactic science, conspiracy theory style. See Mario is an evil communist, for instance.
