It's a relevant topic, and was asked in a most welcoming manner, so I'll offer my appreciation with a detailed response. PS3 is averaging 20k a week sales average this year in Japan (bad) PS3's biggest Japan seller for several months only pushed about 20-25k consoles over the previous week. Virtua Figher 5 for PS3 bombed in japan (5-6k last week, still under 75k copies sold) PS3-vs-Wii is 1+ million consoles behind in japan, 800k behind wii in North America, and just under 1.5 million behind in Europe, where it will launch this month (with 1 million total supposedly). PS3-vs-360 is 400k ahead in Japan, 4.45 million behind in North America (while barely outselling 360 in January), and 3.34 million behind in not-launched-yet Europe. The PS3's software sales are horrible all over, hardware sales are okay in North America, Europe is launching later this month. The 360's software sales in North America are great, mediocre in Europe, and practically non-existant in Japan, with hardware repeating this. The Wii's software sales are excellent in all 3 regions, and the hardware is still selling out overall in all 3 regions. Oh, interesting note is that in japan the PS3 is behind the gamecube's sales at the same point in it's life, in both hardware sold and software attach ratio, and the gamecube sold less than 5 million in japan during it's life.
Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.
