Isn't inflation-adjusted Gone with the Wind, like, way above 3 billion? More than half of it in the US too...

Adjusted Avatar should be a bit higher than its numbers nowadays, as well.

Edit - somewhat sad to think the next Avatar and Star Wars are the most likely candidates for $2 billion+ and Disney is the only one profiting and pocketing all that entertainment money.

Second fake edit - at the same time, buying Marvel and Lucasfilm for some $4 billion each was the best entertainment industry deal of all time.

Only for the US, though. We can't exactly extrapolate for WW since ticket price inflation was different for every country. Though that somewhat confirms Gone With the Wind is perhaps almost at $4 billion, assuming the inflation rates as an average don't deviate too much worldwide.

Edit - other poster confirmed it. Cool.
