Dude the PS3 lost money all throughout it's life while Wii U was even and even made a little money for ninty by the time it ended. And I'm not saying it's a trend, but there is precedent. Considering only 4 gens, messing 1 gen after another successful gen is still a very big deal. Whether it's a trend or an exception will be decided by PS4 since that will be the 2nd time that Sony either produces 2 successful consoles in a row or a failure after a success. Sales aren't the only thing and PS3 was most definitely a failure

I see, so Sony messing that sold more than all but one console of Nintendo is more of a reason for PS5 to not outsell XB4 and NS than let's say Nintendo only crossing 100M with a console 1 single time.

We all know ninty has never been the biggest hardware beast, while Sony has but Ninty produces more profit per console than Sony ever could. We were discussing Sony here. And Ninty in handheld has always sold a lot. We all know the general trend of ninty has been a slow decline except GameCube and Wii U which were pretty drastic while handhelds have been fairly high and consistent. Now that there's only one ninty console, who knows what happens. But switch will sell 100mil most likely.

I'm all over the place though so tl;dr, I was talking about just Sony, not Nintendo here. If you wanna talk ninty, we can. 2 different topics altogether and then the comparison is a third topic.
