Do you think the Switch will get many (then current gen) games from the PS5 / XB2 ?
Tegra x1 is from 2015, and useing Maxwell GPU from 2014.
reason people say it isnt a next gen console, is because its technology is old, and doesnt do anything the current PS4/XB1 cant.
ontop of that its alot weaker in terms of hardware (not something you expect compaired to something in a new gen).
Theres rumors the new "Switch Pro" is actually going to be Switch 2, and will launch close to the PS5/XB2.
It makes sense for the Switch to belong to the same generation as the PS4/XB1, it ll probably spend most of its lifetime competeing against them.
Also it can get a few ports here and there from PS4/XB1, while it likely wont be able to run PS5/Xb2 games.
Its just as "silly" to me, calling Switch next gen, launched early, compaired to you saying "Next gen doesnt start until Sony says so".
IF Switch was useing more modern technology or could do something the others cant,
and or was more powerfull, Id agree that Nintendo kick started a new gen early.
It doesnt, and thus it just isnt a next gen product to me.
Next gen starts with Xbox Two + Playstation 5.... When Switch 2 comes along, hopefully it ll belong to same gen as them.
