PS5 will be a beast of console in terms of spec & developers support, this time will also have the best VR experience, while I think Xbox will become even more marginal. Why? Because Microsoft can't beat Sony anymore on the console market while on the streaming side of things will have an hard time competing with Google Stadia.

Nintendo, in order to compete with Sony in the next-gen, absolutely needs a Switch 2 that is compatible with games of the current model and also a quite high specs, such as about 4 tflops in handheld mode and about 6-7 tflops in docked mode. This will grant Switch 2 ports from PS5, at a lower res and without raytracing, but fully playable at a nice resolution and high fps.

I think the best you can hope for in the next couple of years is a Switch Pro that uses a Tegra Xavier. That should at least get them past 1 Tflops docked.  I mean, maybe Nvidia will make a Tegra that will get it past 2 Tflops docked, but that's still a ~10 Tflops difference between it and the PS5. Not to mention the huge gap in CPU power.  A cut in just resolution isn't going to be enough.

As for a Switch 2, given that Nintendo said they want this gen to last longer for them, I doubt we'll see that until 2023 or 2024.  Maybe then there will be a chipset that can deliver that kind of power, but we'll have to wait and see.
