You do realize that games that feature no underage characters have already been affected by this policy change, right? Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 has no underage girls for instance, and the latest PS4 version of that game is censored in Japan compared to the Switch version.

These are digital characters so actual age is irrelevant. Marie Rose might be 18 according to Tecmo but I think its easily arguable that she looks younger. The stuff taken out is basically creep territory. If you have an issue with not being able to get an upskirt glimpse then sure it is annoying.

While I was half joking, and mostly responding to the original title of this thread, you’ve got to wonder where this arbitrary line is going to be drawn and how many “exceptions†there are going to be. And, whether or not Sony is going to be strickt on themselves as well or if they are going to be hypocritical. Time will tell I guess.

For the record though, at the end of the day I don’t give  a sh*t about any of this.

No, that is a fair point, my apologies. Ideally, there would be no censorship at all. Hopefully, it doesn't move beyond underage stuff.

What does that even mean? Sony doesn't make those kinda games anymore, so we have to look at what third parties cant show. I don't work at Tecmo either, but we know who are responsible for the DOA Xtreme censorship on the PS4.

Maybe Sony should learn to tell people to use the appropriate age rating instead of telling them what to make.

It means that if you actual have direct evidence that it was a Sony censorship issue, then present it. DMC5 censoring was in the Western release only (and not the Japanese)  which is not even in line with the policy, which affects all regions. It is just as likely that Capcom themselves misread the policy and took it upon themselves to do it (since the base game doesn't have the censoring at all). We dont know, at least I havent checked up on the latest about it.

If that's the case, then fair enough. I have less of a problem with companies choosing to censor their own games.
