Not really. If it was a very specific argument being called hypocritical, maybe. However, all you have to do is see every other thread about big games that are third parties on Switch and you will see it. I mean, for all intents and purposes I'm only talking about the community around Switch on this site, which is big but pretty small in the grand scheme of things.

Also it doesn't need to be praising something to be hypocritical. That's just silly. It can be not complaining or complaining to a significantly lesser degree, thus being inconsistent with standards. The opposite of complaining doesn't have to be praising, it can also just be not complaining.

I hope you realize that your definition of hypocrisy means that someone who isn't aware of the existence of a thread can be labeled a hypocrite. And given how few posts this thread had when you made your initial post, you jumped the gun on this one.

Complaining to a significantly lesser degree has merit for the definition of hypocrisy, but not complaining isn't quite right.

Has there been anyone specifically who you consider to be guilty of hypocritical behavior? Or is it more that you are mistaking the general indifference toward Hellblade for something that it isn't?

Indifference to Hellblade? Now you're stretching it. I don't think this game will be super big, probably won't pass the 1M mark on Switch which a lot of third parties have. However it will still be one of the biggest releases of Spring and probably will do quite well.

I concede though that I posted that too early in the thread. Honestly though it wouldn't have changed anything if I waited another day or two even ... because it's obvious that the result would be the same.

As for pointing out specific users again I don't see the point. You're playing blind if you don't think the general behavior towards digital-only games has been nearly entirely negative on this site. However I will say there is a pretty obvious "specific" choice that I'm not going to point out ... feel like it shouldn't even need explaining
