I wouldn't be so convinced that there has to be life somewhere else in the universe. For all we know, the probability of life evolving in the universe might be so small that despite the incredible size of the universe, our very own existence could be practically a miracle and there might not be any life anywhere else at all. The numbers involved here are just so small (the chance of life evolving somewhere) or so large (the size of the universe) that humans are pretty bad at comprehending those numbers.

That said, I do believe there to be a fairly good chance that there is other life too. It's pretty much either that or our own existence is practically a miracle, and the former does seem more likely, although this is no simple matter either (ours might just be the googol'th universe and the first one to have any life in it at all, although I doubt even that makes any sense in the end).
