IT's even harsher than Dark Souls because in Dark souls you can return to the spot and get all your souls back. In this game you automatically lose half your money and experience upon dying (Well, half the progress to your next skill point; if you have 2 full skill points and half the bar to your third, you only lose half that bar).
But hey, these games aren't for everyone. If you're not a fan, that's fine, but I think it's important for you to know what you're getting into before buying so you're not some trash person who doesn't do their research, buys the game, hates it for being exactly what it was trying to be, then goes and trashes the game online thus painting it as bad to others who might have otherwise bought and enjoyed it.
Transparency is key, which is why Reviews are so important.
