My biggest collection of games is on PS3. About 270 games, or so. Followed by PC, somewhere around 150, with many of them being AAA titles. Tekken, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, Overwatch, Destiny, and whatever else I have all run fine on PC, so I have no idea of what you mean about games not running well. In the case of GTAV, PC waited a while, but if you wanted to get that game day one, you were playing it on PS3, or xbox 360 anyway. If out of my entire collection of games, you'd think I'd have even one example of a game not running well, if it is most of them. And, don't forget about those pesky video editors too. If you want to play a game, you might just start doing that and say forget about that game! I want to make a 4k video about my trip from last year!.... Ease of access to the internet. A huge distraction on PC, thus a benefit of consoles to have a worthless web browser. Better put your phone away while you're gaming too, while you're at it. Never heard that one before. This thread has convinced me that people who prefer consoles to pc have no idea of what games are actually like on PC. And your $400 laptop from 2011 isn't the type of PC I'm talking about. |
Depends on when you got some of the games and which games you have. Some of the games have been fixed, but it can end up taking a long time for that to happen.

This is just a small sample from a few years ago, but there's obviously issues with games being ported over.
To add to the list Nier Automata. A favorite game of mine I was considering getting on PC but after hearing about the crashing issues forget about it. Don't care if it's even "fixed" at this point as the game runs fine enough on PS4.

tl;dr version: Unique setups of PCs create more unique problems when porting, thus more difficult to pinpoint issues for everyone with their own unique set ups, unlike consoles which are easier to fix issues with because they're almost all made the same.
Phones are a different device altogether (usually, unless you're using an app of some kind that your system allows) so a little easier to deal with than an all in one device. You can only concentrate fully holding a Controller/Mouse_keyboard or your phone. Most probably are not even going to attempt both at the same time, but if you can then bravo. I can't imagine you'd be enjoying yourself that much though with that level of multitasking.
