Factory Town reimagines Factorio as a colourful, magical city builder
https://www.pcgamer.com/factory-town-reimagines-factorio-as-a-colourful-magical-city-builder/
Factory Town, out in Early Access today, tasks you with constructing a huge mega-factory disguised as a quaint rustic town. It's Factorio by way of Banished, says developer, Erik Asmussen, and after taking it for a spin today I've definitely noticed it hitting a lot of the same notes. And like those games, you'll probably find yourself losing hours as you tinker and tweak to maximise your burgeoning industrial powerhouse.

Apex Legends Battle Pass briefly appears on Origin, but isn't releasing today (Updated)
https://www.pcgamer.com/apex-legends-season-one-battle-pass-launch/
The long-awaited Apex Legends Battle Pass has almost arrived, signalling the start of Season 1. The rumor has been that the Battle Pass will be available today, and that's seeming pretty likely considering it briefly appeared on Origin this morning before disappearing. Seeing that the banner image is still live on Origin servers even if it's not live in the client, we can expect the Battle Pass to arrive very, very soon. Update: False alarm! Though everything pointed to today for the Apex Legends Battle Pass release, including it briefly appearing on Origin this morning, Respawn community manager Jay Frechette says on Reddit that "it's not coming out today." Details are coming "very soon," though.

World of Warcraft finally adds thicc humans and trolls who stand up straight
https://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcraft-finally-adds-thicc-humans-and-trolls-who-stand-up-straight/
Today is a good day in World of Warcraft because patch 8.1.5 is finally out, adding—among many things—two new Allied Races: The portly Kul Tiran humans and the good-postured Zandalari trolls. First revealed when Battle for Azeroth was announced over a year ago, it's been a long wait to play the two races that are at the core of the conflict driving Battle for Azeroth. Like all Allied Races, those who start new characters as a Kul Tiran or Zandalari and then level all the way to 110 will also earn a cool suit of armor that evokes the culture of that race.

It's been o̶n̶e̶ zero days since Anthem's last hilarious, game-breaking bug—only this time players have discovered two. It's a double feature! Over on the Anthem subreddit, two of the more popular threads today involve a pair of bugs. One involves some bad math on the way Anthem calculates how much damage your abilities do, while the other lets your Storm javelin have infinite health.

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has spoken at length about the company's push into the digital storefront frontier, and what it might take to displace Steam from market dominance. Dwarf Fortress is coming to Steam with graphics and mod support
https://www.pcgamer.com/dwarf-fortress-is-coming-to-steam-with-graphics-and-mod-support/
I'm telling you, with a straight face, that this is the biggest PC gaming news of 2019: Dwarf Fortress is coming to Steam, with graphics and Workshop mod support. Dwarf Fortress is as famous for its ASCII graphics as it is for its unparalleled depth as a procedurally generated simulation of existence. And while it's always been moddable, the new Steam (and Itch.io) release, coming this year, will make an infamously complex game just a little bit easier to get into.

https://www.pcgamer.com/atomicrops-is-a-farming-roguelike-full-of-mutant-vegetables-and-romance/
It's been a long time since we last heard from Atomicrops, the post-apocalyptic farming simulator. It looks like an unholy union between Stardew Valley and Nuclear Throne, tasking farmers with growing lots of mutant produce and then protecting it from ravenous monsters. It was announced back in 2017, and now you can finally watch the reveal trailer.
