I share your opinion, we should count both Switch and WiiU, they are respectively gen 8 round 1 and 2.

I always repeat : there won't be any Switch Pro because the Switch is already the "Wii U pro" of the gen 8th, but this opinion makes people quickly excited here.
Prepare for the counter argument : the name is different, the games are not compatible between the two consoles......But they are the fucking same improved lol. You just have to pay them twice, a detail.

Nintendo will release in 2021 a gen 9th hybrid console which will be as powerfull as the base PS4 and this will compete against PS5 and next XBOX.

Metroid P4 will be one of the main launch title and he was rebooted for this reason.

I am ready for the 3 days banishement, go for it.

I do think as you do, the Switch is for me a new try for this generation. There is no reason a company can't release a new device within the same generation.
