Without a price cut at $199, Switch would sell a couple of millions more; with a price cut at $199 by 1st of Sept, and the Last of Us part II in Oct/Nov, I'm not sure Switch will dominate the year, they could be closer than expected.

What do you think about a price cut on 1st Sept ?  I don't think Sony should delay it furthermore, and it would be a good way to enlarge the userbase even more, and to not make a price cut too close to the PS5 release.     Sept is the date that makes more sense for me.

A price cut sometime in Q2 or Q3 makes sense to me but I highly doubt it will be to $199, there really isnt any precedent for such a drastic price cut this late in a consoles life especially since PS4 is still selling very well.

I think $249 is far more realistic and they will continue to save $199 bundles for Black Friday week and maybe the week before Christmas.

Yep, it makes sense.  In the end PS4 is still selling quiet good, and twice as much as Switch in Europe, which is the biggest Territory and the most important for Sony.

$249 might be a good intermediate step before the final $199.   The main target is shifting towards PS5, and Sony should only care about enlarging even more the Playstation ecosystem and be profitable as much as possible.
