This is the biggest problem with fighting games right now. Looking at Street Fighter and especially DOA, this is worse than Activision and EA. I didn't even think it was possible to spend a thousand bucks on, not a game, but extra content for the $60 game. I think the only reason they get away with this, is fighting games are far more niche than the CoD's and Battlefield's of today.
Fighting games used to be my favorite genre but this level of filthy monetization pushed me away.
With Mortal Kombat X, I got it recently on sale for $5 (all dlc included) and that to me is the only way to push back. Wait until the games are discounted so much that their profits are negligible.
