For me, that's why an IPS/HDR monitor (4 or 8K) makes for such a comparable alternative. Only an OLED display can top it.

 Unfortunately OLED has burn in and image retention issues which make them unsuitable for pc monitors.

Agreed. For those thinking about getting an oled down the line, a self emissive led technology called mirco led is on the way. All the benefits of oled, no burn in.

 

I bought a Samsung Qled last year for the same reason. Not to mention it hits over 1500 nits, excellent for hdr content.
