Yes HDR is great. Had me impressed when turned on. And when it is faked like in RDR2 it is a bummer.

Not aware of any non-4k tv having it in Brazil though.

And best part? It isn't processing heavy so no impact on the game performance.

There are a few small brand named Tv's here that do 1080 HDR and the big companies did for a while but it seems they are pushing 4k and have started to only implement HDR in 4k Tv's, probably to sell more of them. You can find Sony and Samsung models online but even though 4k is giving such small improvements you best buy a 4k TV cause the ps5 and Xbox 2 will probably make great use of it next gen, I think even the pro and Xb1X are still not powerful enough to utilize it properly as to why it only feels like anti ailsing tech at the moment.

Yes the price of 4K TV, even good ones, are not prohibitive and if you really want HDR is because you want good IQ so picking 4K makes sense even if HW for it is not being released yet. I certainly jumped the gun buying a TV over 3k USD (65X855C from Sony, like 3 years ago) with very few content even on Pro. But I can't complain, I'm ready for PS5 and the HDR this gen is already good.

How long did you have HDR before you turned it on or am I misreading that comment? If it's not rescource heavy Sony should allow an option to turn it on and off and not leave it on auto only as when I go back to the ps4's menu when HDR is set on by a game the UI and themes/backgrounds looks incredibly punchy and nice and coloured up so if it can make the UI look better, surely It can make games that don't support it look better and they also need to get YouTube to allow HDR on the ps4 app, my mobile phone can run it and Netflixs  ps4 app does it so I don't see the reason for YouTube to miss the feature besides laziness. I hope it's something that gets lost and forgotten about in the pursuit of raytracing like so much other cool tech in the past, hopefully you are right and it doesnt take much to run it and devs have started putting it on the drawing board for games going into development instead of slapping it on later.

As soon as I heard of PS4 update to have HDR I looked around on the TV and enabled it. Didn't make a difference because YT, Netflix and PS4 didn't had HDR on them. My TV was already the 4K with HDR at the time, the hit was instantaneous.

My point is on gaming development. You don't have to trade-in framerate, polygons or anything to have 10 bits HDR. You just have to design the game with it in mind.

For some reason depending on the content, My PS4 keeps changing color, I always leave TV and PS4 HDR enabled, but sometimes I have to adjust the TV output to be good on what I'm playing or watching, then when I get to menu or other program I can either have color bleeding or blandness.

I hope my plasma keeps going on, until oleds became more afordable. Lcd are terrible.

LCD are bad yeah but LEDs are pretty good, at least the last two I've bought anyway, I have seen some that do lighting from the side or something but the 4k LED I have now does blacks really well, the blacks are just slightly noticably lit but with HDR on it might as well be an an OLED. I'm joking my phone against the TV now with metro on in HDR on my TV and the OLED on my phone is noticably better but the TV comes very close with the blacks.

I agree OLEDs will be better when they can size them up to over 40 or 50+ inch but LEDs are doing a good job for the time being, at least the next decade while OLEDs come down from the thousands to affordable.

My last 2 TVs were LED. The current one I have a lot of grey non-uniformity, but black level itself is excellent and any image that isn't like full white/grey I can't see a simple bad thing.
